Jarryd Hayne has won the International Rugby League Player of the year award, ahead of fellow Australian Superstars Greg Inglis and Billy Slater. Ryan Hall from England won Rookie/Best International Newcomer and Australian Shayne Hayne scooped International Referee of the year.

Next Rugby League World Cup in 2013
The next Rugby League World Cup will be held in the United Kingdom it has been announced.
The first ever World Cup in any Rugby was held in 1954 when France hosted the Rugby League World Cup. Great Britain just sneaking home 12-16 in Paris against France. Further Rugby League World Cups have been held in various ways. However only 3 Nations have ever been World Champions-Australia, Great Britain and New Zealand.
Germany 30 – Italy 42
Italy retained their European Shield rugby league crown but had to overcome a fight back from a young, but determined German side before running out 42-30 winners in Hürth, outside Cologne.
Czech Republic 30 – Germany 4
Germany did not have a good preparation before the match after being forced to bring in 4 players at the last minute due to others pulling out. Also missing was injured player coach Dan Stocks alongside a couple of others like Nico Koch and Alex Klöpper.

The South (Bavaria/Bayern) caused a bit of a shock by beating the North (NRW, Hessen & Baden Württemberg) 58 -38 today in Nürnberg. Both teams featured a mix of experienced guys, players new to League and guys playing any form of Rugby for the first time.
